Canberra (CBR) Airport, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), is within easy reach by air from most of Australia, as it is well connected to a number of Australia's largest airports.

Location:
Canberra Airport is about ten minutes from Canberra's CBD, Civic by car. Parking at the terminal is organised, convenient and is very reasonably priced.

There is also a subsidised Airliner shuttle bus service operating during the week ( Monday to Friday) and provides an express bus service to and from the Airport and Canberra city. You can pick up the Airliner bus just outside the main terminal doors.
 
Look for the shuttle bus stop as you leave the central terminal. It costs about £4 single and £7 return. These buses depart hourly for the city.

Taxis are available at all times of the day from the front of the Terminal. An average fare to the city or Parliament House is £8 to £10. During peak times, Canberra Cabs' Commissionaires may "multiple load" cabs to common destinations and the fare will be reduced. However this is only done with your permission. In the unlikely event that you find yourself at the airport with seemingly no taxis available, a free, direct link telephone is provided for your convenience.

The Newslink news agency and gift shop is the main shop at Canberra (CBR) Airport which provides both local and foreign newspapers, books, glossy magazines, snacks and basic refreshments, confectionary and souvenirs of Canberra. The Airport's Newslink shop is located on the ground floor of the Central Terminal and is open from 5.30am to 9.00pm every day.

Eating:
Canberra (CBR) Airport offers a choice of places where you can eat. These include a wine bar on the first floor of departures, and a coffee shop (the Ground Café) which can be found near the main entrance of the Central Terminal. Both of these offer a good choice of Australian and international cuisine, and plenty of snack foods and are popular places to visit whilst filling in time waiting for flights. A number of vending machines are conveniently located throughout Canberra (CBR) Airport.

Business Facilities:
Canberra (CBR) Airport offers basic facilities for such things as meetings or small conferences. Amongst these facilities are meeting rooms, desks, telephone/fax machines and catering. There are also alternative facilities available in the nearby Brindabella Commercial Centre.

Banking:
A Travelex currency exchange outlet can be found on the ground floor of Canberra (CBR) Airport's Central Terminal and there is an ATM cashpoint machine close by. The exchange bureau offers a good exchange rate and money transfers. Phone cards can also be purchased here and its opening hours are Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:30, and at weekends from 07:00 to 17:30.

Disabled Facilities:
For those travellers with either disabilities or special needs, Canberra (CBR) Airport offers good facilities and full access. This includes ramps, access for wheelchairs, lifts to all floors (each lift has a Braille control panel ergonomically placed at a lower level), disabled toilet facilities with wheelchair access, and TTY teletypewriter phones.

Canberra (CBR) Airport's car park also has specially designated car parking spaces for those in possession of a valid permit. These spaces are conveniently located opposite the main airport terminal entrances and there is lowered car parking pay machines provided with help buttons.

The departures lounge is located in the central part of the terminal. To enter the lounge you must go through security screening and take the escalator or lift up to the first floor. Everyone is welcome at any time - you don't need to be catching a flight to enjoy the view and fabulous facilities on offer! The Barton Bar is located in this departure lounge.

Qantas Club members can access the Qantas Club Lounge facilities by going through security screening at the Qantas end of the terminal and taking the escalator up to the first floor.
